cheap toolstation router bits

i need a couple of router bits: around 4-7mm diameter in 1/4" shank.

i need them first thing in the morning, and i notice that toolstation sell some for about 70p - £2 each - possibly silverline.

im going to go out on a limb, and say theyre not going to be very good.

but *how* bad are they?
im going to route some 1/4" deep grooves in some birch ply.- 18 slots, 10in long, so a significant amount.
the only other place to get router bits tomorrow charges around 15-18 each!!!

i dont mind paying £18 if thats what i have to pay, but not if 3 or 4 quids worth of cheapies will work as well.

ive ordered some 1/4" tct end mills from china for the next batch i have to make. always had good success with them for a couple of quid each, but only have 8mm and 12.7mm in stock.

Had a silverline explode. Only one I ever bought. Spend a few more pennies or wear a leather and face mask.

Probably be fine tbh. But if you can find something else I would.

Bought some silverline pozi bits once and they were made of toffee. I wouldn't risk a router bit at 20k rpm....

in would say they would be fine but its the amount of cut per pass that will be the problem more passes needed on the cheaper suff

had a fair few bits in my time bought and sold a few routers and cutters

i have kept a hatachi 240v as my main unit for big jobs and a boash for the smaller stuff

the hatachi can cut a good lump off but only if good named make of cutter
