I was bought this as a present.
It's a cordless engraver powered by 2 aa batteries, made by those manufacturers of top quality tools, Rolson.
There is no chuck, the diamond bit is a push fit in a rubber socket so I wasn't expecting much.
But it has surprised me by how useful it has been. I've just refubed a gearbox & I used it to mark the gears to aid reassembly. It easily marked the hardened steel, though it will bog down if you lean too hard.
The best part was it being cordless. I have 2 corded 'dremel' type tools & it's a pain to take them out to do one job plus you are hampered by the cord. I can see this tool getting a lot of use!
Also in the picture is a small keyring multi tool. It was Maplin own brand & again I wasn't expecting much but it has proved to be a most useful thing. The knife blade has held its edge despite cutting loads of stuff & everybody should carry a bottle opener.
