Cheap? Security Camera

Been looking at these single cameras that run off apps, does anyone have any experience?

Would be getting stuck on front of house

beaware i believe that camera needs a computer or its own nvr unit

which means something like a vhs and a camera connected to it so that it can record pics onto it

otherwise you would need a pc with a card and connections to it or a recorder ( nvr unit )

I think you will find you will need either a micro SD card (64GB max) or the Reolink NVR to record images. It does say at the bottom of the link that the camera is only compatible with the Reolink NVR only.

Remotely accessible and you can do quite a lot with a couple.

Was amazon i was looking, seem complicated and simple at the same time.
The one i linked to was a 5mp, only reason picked it. Had seen the igeek but only 2mp.
Don't want to pay more than 50 quid.

Decent picture quality, 2 way audio, siren and strobe light, takes an SD card so you can easily transfer video to a computer. links to your phone for remote viewing and trigger alerts.

I hate these ONVIF cameras with a passion. Typically Chinese web support only using software infested with spyware and backdoor admin accounts. Not all ONVIF or IP cameras are so restrictive but a lot of the cheaper Chinese ones are and they will only work with their software, their drivers and the interfaces are clunky at best in my experience.

Axis IP cameras which are genuinely ONVIF compliant are a breeze to work with and setup. Noname cheap as chips Chinese cameras are not. I have one now I am battling with after getting a 50% discount because the advertised 5x zoom was barely 2x. Flagged as Sony, probably the only part of it is the sensor, the rest is not "Sony" quality. Connecting via the built in webpage is pretty horrible but its the only way to get video and PTZ control. None of the other softwares can have both because it doesn't even have a unique identifier for which a driver is available.

Rant over. No doubt if I plug it into a reputable CCTV DVR it will behave itself and allow me to control it with the software I already have or ideally a decent web interface.

If you have the money, I would recommend Nest. They are pricey and there's a monthly account but the usability, reliability and quality is excellent.
