Selling the mask at a reduced profit to ensure a big profit on filters. Most do not look at the total cost. Other masks work out cheaper if you replace filters often.I assume they bought a few shiploads when the pandemic started and need the space - the complete mask, with filters, is cheaper than the replacement filters.
I struggled to find a crash helmet to fit my head - so I assume I have a flippin big noggin - but the m/l fits me okay without touching anywhere it shouldn't. Fits nicely under my Speedglas welding hat too.I ordered one, S/M size, the face seal appears to fit me well.
Its impossible to cup the filters or outlet to do a positive/negative pressure leak test, without removing the filters and plastic shroud. Unshaven, I cant detect any leak on the face seal, Im confident that is good, better fit than my pro2000 half mask and much lighter. It is hard to check the exhale valve - that it is not leaking and bypassing the filters, it does seem a bit on the weak side.
The design and position of the inlet valves is questionable. Inlet valves are touching my lips. If I take a deep breath by mouth the inlet valves will block my lips! If the inlet valves leak outwards, I guess it could allow bacteria to grow in the filters, but theres no chance of unfiltered air getting in, exhaling may even help keep the filters clean!
I dont think I will trust this for anything other than welding. I have much better confidence in my pro2000 mask for silica/dusts.
Good points you make thereI ordered another for £5.95 and they have sent a Stealth branded one. Ide tical, seems good.
Checked website, they also have a white one, for dental use. Note that theres no filter on the exhale valve located at bottom, breathing moisture collects and as its at the bottom, will drip/spray out the valve, right into patients open mouth
@Parm I cant believe this is approved for dental use?!

Thats a whole different world. medical devices are regulated by MHRA, PPE is regulated by HSEInteresting, thanks. I assumed any equipement intended for medical use would have additional standards to be met in addition to normal PPE
