Cheap Inverters

Hi folks, I mentioned this on another thread but thought it was a bit off topic.

I borrowed a great little par weld inverter a few years back. They cost around 200. I only do occasional welding here so I was hoping to get away with a cheaper one - say 80-120 quid.

I'll be mostly welding 3-4 mm steel with smallish rods.

There's so many cheap ones around now, I'm struggling for choice. Just wondering if anyone has experience of any of these machines, or can you recommend.

Honestly, at these prices there's really no reason not to buy. I splurged £80 a couple of years ago on a tiny alleged 200A unit from Amazon and it's been great.

ok that's good to know. I don't need a trade quality machine but as long as it works ok

If your buying a cheap un-known make buy it from Amazon or the like, that way if it states a guarantee in the write up (also print it off and save it), that way, you're in with a better chance if it goes pop and lets the magic smoke out....
