Cheap inverter welder and generator power

Just kicking an idea around ... considering a small inverter welder, something like a Parweld XTS143 (140A), which says it's OK for use on a generator. Or something even smaller - I'm only looking for something to cope with light work away from the workshop.
I already have a Honda EU2000 inverter generator, so hoping to find a small welder that I can run off it.
I'm probably asking too much of it? The input supply stated for the welder of 240v 13A/16A is going to be too much for a 2000w generator, but it's unlikely I'd be using the welder at max capacity.
I do have access to a 6Kva gentset, but it's fixed in situ, therefore not really portable, and long extension leads just result in volt drops. Maybe I just need to stick the 6Kva on a trailer.

The 6Kva genny should run the welder at full power and you'll probably get away with an extension lead of up to 100>130 ft.

I've used a similar set up on full power welding 10mm plate

My experience of trying to run a small 150 amp inverter welder off a genny isn't good, my 6kva genny almost stalls when striking up with the welder on max. If portable is key I would suggest a small petrol powered welder.

I'd not personally risk it off an EU2000. Expensive generator and an Inverter Gen. You might blow the inverter on the genset - despite being a well made genny - they aren't really designed for this sort of work.

At 140A I'd guesstimate you'd need 5kva genny (tho Inverter welders seem "kinder" to Gens than transformer sets, so it might manage on a 4kva, even a 3.5 on lower settings).
