I’ve bought one 500mm axial fan which does about 150m3/min but that might only be about 1/2 what I should have for a good extraction of the fumes. I plan on doing some testing before I spray and see what I can come up with.

When I built a large greenhouse, I bought an industrial heat exchanger to heat it and it had two fans on it, each one of them was about 300W but each fan could move about 3+ cubic meters of air per second. Some of the large industrial fans you can get from big hardware stores may also suit if you built a shroud for them. Similar to this and this one even comes with a shroud already. You may find one similar in the UK .

Thanks but centrifugal fans are a lot less efficient at passing air compared to the axial types I’ve learnt.

Bought an axial type wall mounted one that is quoted as 150m3/m but from what I’ve read I’ll probably need double that. I also need to run new piping etc to the workshop extension for spraying and air fed mask so want to be safe but don’t want to break the bank either.

They may be more efficient but I think the axial ones move more air. Get the largest wattage motor size you can.

I got two of the bouncy castle fans for all of a tenner off ebay.
I think theyre 450w each or something.

If you wanted to run it 24/7 then efficiency would certainly be a consideration, but the volume of air that they move is fairly impressive, and i cant think you will want to run it for many hours per day.

If you do the sums, you might find that the payback on spending more on a more efficient fan exceeds its, or your, expected lifespan! : )

The one axial fan I have will move 150m3/min v about 30m3/min for a bouncy castle blower so for mounting like I'm intending the axial fan is by far the better choice but it may be a good idea to have a couple of bouncy castle ones in the space with some hydroponic ducting to move air from the far end. I'll see how the axial fan goes when it comes.
