Cheap ebay chain saw

I bought one refurbished on eBay 10 years ago for £50 and used it a fair bit when I was foraging for wood for the fire. But not used it for 5 years, it's been sitting in a damp shed since, until today.

My Mrs started off with a hand saw but it quicky got bound up.

So I dug out the chain saw, I was amazed when it started after about 6 pulls.

Worked great.

Job done, new veg plot.

Have you got any damp proof membrane at the back of the raised bed? I can't see any, and if it's been left out, that wall will get damp!!

The earth has been there for the last 100 years or so, so not too worried about it. I'll just be leveling it off.

i was thinking of the damp myself when seen the pic

you have raised the soil a stone higher that what it was before

as goes for the chainsaw you was lucky as it normally needs a clean out or a new diaphram to get them working due to the new fuel rotting them

we have to use a circular saw on those cuts and the last through cut is normally with a wood saw with those sort of beams

a wood saw would have taken a long time to cut through even with a brand new wood saw

Pah. I cut an inch slither off of a 3ft length of 4inch square oak with a woodsaw the other day. Didnt take long. The old roller needed new bearings.

@RaceDiagnostics you do crack on. I am always impressed with the progress you make with a long to do list. The length of my list seems to hold me back at the moment!!

Crazed chainsaw killer?

we employed a young handy man to rebuild 500m of drystone walling plus tons of other stuff.....
basically the unmaintained garden trees n bushes pushed em over.....now have 2 years fire wood......
anyway.....the first day he started my Echo c/saw quit....diaphram.....
had to have a small'ish c/saw, right now,..... but didnt wanna spend another 400 on a new Echo....
Just that day on the tool isle of Lidil was c/saw for €129 euro's.....
worked it to death over a week or so.....
I mean all day running and very hard wood......
Still start and runs like a champ.....
so go get one.....esp as they have the usual 3 year warranty.....
the original box and reciept is stashed away safe....just in case....
ps....it has a wind up spring mech, so even i can start it....
