i use my compressor for blastcleaning with airfed helmet of comp. in summeri i used to gasp with the heat so i got a dustbin filled it up with cold water got a coill of 10mm copper minibore pipe conected pipes up put coil in waterDon't think many diyer's would need a dryer.filters and autodrain on the reciever would be adequate for most weekenders.....Gav

Design of the system is more important than a dryer,,in a good design very little f would get through to the user ,,,,start with a good design ,paint or not ,is all i'm saying,with a bad design you have to use a dryer...diy or not .....
best to cool the air at source if u can aford the cooler brill. ifI agree design is more important than a dryer.Water will stay in air as water vapour until it is cooled or filtered,even if you have loads of water traps and drains and highs and lows of pipe-it will still have water vapour in it.
Thats what I understand so far from reading about it on the net for an hour or two.
