I bought this set of crimps of Amazon yesterday: the 10 to 120mm set - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00L9044RA/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
I used them in anger today and found overall they are fine for my occasional use.
The dies are hex shaped and seem reasonably well made:
The labelling on the hydraulic cylinder is back to front, as usual it is clockwise to apply pressure and counter clockwise to relieve, which seems the opposite to the label:
I tried using the 16mm crimp on 16mm battery cable and it pulled off without too much difficult, so then I used the 10mm crimp and it was on solid:
Heat shrink added to finish:
All in was quite easy to use and a much neater job than what I have bodged in the past with a vice. Is a typical Chinese made tool, does not feel high quality but for the price it does a good job and for an occasional user like me, well worth the relatively low price compared to professional quality ones.
