Touched on it in the plastering thread but didn't want to take it too far off topic.
As I'm changing over things for the change in what I'm doing I've been looking at some of the less obvious costs. One such will be collecting or delivering a customer's machine/tool/plant. There's an increased cost for insurance to carry customer's property, then fuel, wear and tear on the van and trailer.
The outcome ofback of a fag packet accurate calculations is :-
£25 up to 10 miles (round trip) and £1:20 per miles above that.
£45 p/h for loading and unloading that takes more than 15 minutes including time spent waiting for people to get their sh1t together.
On the one hand it seems harsh, but on the other I'm only going to be doing it for the benefit of a customer and any business only exists if it's paid.
