Changing an led power light

I have a peoce of electrica equipment which has a blue LED to show it is on. I want to change it to a green LED - how do I tell what LED I need to order?

Ideally you need to know the voltage across the existing led and the current through it. I once changed a yellow led to blue in the shift key on a microwave sig gen so I didn’t confuse it with the ”RF ON” yellow led. Problem the blue led was so bright I had a blue searchlight in the room. So had to change the dropper resistor you may need to do likewise.

need to measure the diameter of the led and look at how it fits in, whether it is a push in or manufactured with a bezel
