Im new to the forum, but have been welding for a number of years, restoring cars and numerous other projects (gates and fences etc.)
I have always used CO2 before as my father in law could sort the replacement bottles out for me. However I have just sourced a "w type" bottle of Argoshield Universal, and now my welder is almost impossible to use!
the wire doesnt want to touch the metal, it seams to be pooling in the shroud rather than building a pool on the surface. I have upped the settings, wire speed , power and any combination of the 2.
I am currently using it to restore a mini for a mate, so I am only welding thin stuff.
Any experiences and ideas from anyone would be good as I am fast running out of scrap to test on!
many thanks
Gav
