I have mentioned that the approach to elf n safety is a bit relaxed over here, so I thought I would post up about a chainsaw artist who had a stand at our clubs bike n tattoo show.
The Fez is, I think, thought to collapse downwards over the head if a branch falls on your nut.
The tassel, should catch in the chain if the saw kicks back, and pull the Fez into the chain and block it.
The classic Oxy/A welders goggles provide a sartorial touch in a steampunk kinda way but do protect the eyes of course.
Lung protection is taken care of by smoking 60 full tar ciggies a day, no need for a mask as the tar coating on the lungs takes care of any spores.
Basketball trainers are worn so you can be fleet of foot in avoiding a falling trunk.
There is no need for barriers to close off the work area as a bloke in owd welding goggles wearing a Fez and wielding a chainsaw is clearly to be avoided.
