I’ve got been getting some big trees dropped off for firewood, so time to get the old Stihl 064 out, but it doesn’t want to play nice.
First of all it wouldn’t tick over nice so gave it a bit work to try and wake it up, but no better. Now when trying to start it its kicking back terribly, ripping the cord out of my hand to the point ware my hand and arm are still hurting 3 days later.
I’ve just had another go, took the chain and bar off to make things a bit safer and easier. It’s starting now but you have to pull it like you mean it, it ticks over without the bar on but it’s verry rough. It’s bouncing it’s self up off the bench when ticking over.
How would you 2 stroke experts recommend I start to get it running nicely again.
It’s an old saw but it has loads of power for it weight and I wouldn’t replace it with a modern offering if I can help it.
