Hi guys,
New to Mig welding (had a year doing fabrication in the mid 80s but all arch welding).
I have got the above machine which seems to be in really good condition but I can’t find any information on it, no manual or setting information. I’m wondering if the newer Cemont maxistar 200m performance is similar so I can use that’s base info?
The machine controls are a bit confusing to a novice, Ive matched the symbols so I know which is which but that hasn’t helped. I was expecting voltage & wire speed but got the following
Big dial switch numbered 1 to 6 - Welding tension regulation commutator. Guessing that the voltage?
Top dial 1- 10 increments - Spot welding time control potentiometer. Bit more obvious but where should it be set when you’re not spot welding?
Burn back - I understand that one. Wire starting point distance from tip for next weld.
Slope up, no idea & will be mostly welding on a bench so wondering where to set it
Dial 1- 10 increments- Wire feed speed control potentiometer. I assume this is actual wire speed.
I’m assuming it’s 35 min 185 max but as a real notice I’d prefer more definitive info. Tried the Cemont UK dealer & the just said it’s too old for their records.
Any advice would be really great.
All the best
