Cement board roof repair

It has a few cracks in the boards on the ridges, so whats the best way to repair it with out replacing the roof?

Decent flashband, quick scrub to clean loose material and heat it up a little so it sticks well

they are also temporary soloutions as well

even the melted tar onto these sheets only lasts so long before they fail

if the cracks are around the bolt holes they can fail enough to be caught by the wind

A longer term bodge is to cut a piece of skylight of the same profile the right size to cover the crack and where it'll dribble to and tuck it between the lap of the sheets lower down.

just a note here whilst certain fibre cement roofs maybe ok to scrape and scrub the older type is unsafe to do so as this will produce a fine dust

its unsafe to scrape or scrub asbestoes type of ridge profile roofing sheets

you should be fine with the new fibre cement stuff but some dust will be in the air

bolt on a folded sheet of galve steel to cover the bad bits....as long as u have water run off..........
then save up for a new roof.....it's at it's end fairly soon......
I have changed many a roof on props I've owned for profile steel, mostly insulated......
it def adds value to the property.....

I agree - budget for replacement IDC.
I bought some flexible sealant, that was quite expensive, and whilst it worked for a while it eventually failed so ended up reroofing anyway
