Hi newbie first post.
I have just started to paint the elevating roof of my VW camper in cellulose after doing much reading. I have set up my compressor and a fixed airline with filtration as per the guide on this site and am following all the safety advice re cellulose. After some successful practice the first coat of primer went on the other day. Weather outside was hot, dry but a little windy. My double length garage has doors front and rear and I left the rear doors open for ventilation. Everything seemed to go well. Yesterday I put on a second coat in the evening. Weather was hot and very still. The smell of paint fumes were awful, not a strong smell but I could almost taste them. I could still smell them a bit in the morning and my mouth and eyes were tingling a bit. One problem I had not dealt with properly was an old extractor fan from a downstairs wc into the garage that I had just stuffed with rags I am very concerned about the effect these fumes may have my neighbours, one elderly lady and a family with young children. Nobody has said anything yet but I feel like giving up if I can't find a workable solution to this problem. What do others do in this situation. Perhaps I should leave front and rear doors open and hope the fumes disperse more quickly. The first day the fumes weren't that bad at all.
