Cebora Stag 196, torch live all the time ???

I have a Stag 196 and did a stupid thing, I lent it to soneone and now it has a problem
The torch is live as soon as the machine is turned on and the gas flows also, I checked things like the torch switch etc etc, I unplugged the plug from the main board that the switch wires go to and it still did it, I assume something on the board is kaput ???

Not sure where that is mate, I will have a nose around in there this morning and post a pic.

Can you get a better pic of the board on the left /behind the front panel switches?,thats where the contactor or relay will be hiding ,not that i'm a spark and can help,but i'm sure the others will

Just had a look who's online ,and can't see our normal sparks .....I would guess it could be the transparent blue component with 24vdc on it ,although the grey plastic component on the right of it is not something i recognise .....Probably better to wait until the sparks are about ,I might be tempted to unplug the euro torch and see if it still feeds,to proove its not in the torch,or fit another torch?...sorry can't be more help on testing the relay not really my area

I'm sure Dave (Notanormalcoder) will have a good idea what's wrong..
He's a Cebora service agent so knows those machines inside and out and can supply parts if required.

Woo Hoo !!! I looked at the board and found what looks like a small relay, gave it a light tap and tried it and it works perfectly, if it does it again I will check replacing the relay, thanks guys for the assistance.
This machine has had some serious use over the years and has never gave any trouble in the past, I was thinking of replacing it but I just don't use it much these days as everything is tigged, but it does still have its uses.

PCB relays on these machine are not really up to the job but a lot depends on how the machine is used. Lots of short tack welds at high output wrecks them but long runs and lower currents are not such a problem As some have found, they stick closed when the contacts weld themselves together. Other times, the contacts just burn away, so the relay appears to work but doesn't in fact make contact. Replacing the relay is a fairly straightforward de-solder/re-solder job. Make sure you get 24Vdc coil and contact rated at 16A or better if you can.

I can usually fix these but it's probably cheaper (postage cost a small fortune nowadays) to try it yourself, or find a mate who's handy with a soldering iron.
