Cebora monoweld

I picked this up off an exmployer for a 10 pound discount off my next bill. It's s Cebora Monoweld. I couldn't find any info at all on it, but does up to 140amp and I needed a portable machine that would run 3.2mm rods. Does anyone know anything about them? I can't even find where it's made.

It doesn't weld 5mm channel too bad, although the duty cycle sucks.

I'd take a photo of the current scale - so you can make a label when the paint peels off .

Good idea on the scale, it's almost gone already. Not that I'd read it much - just go by feel normally

Yeah I've kind had that in my mind. Not in the middle of a job though. What sort of fans are good? Do they add a noticable current draw? To my disbelief this was pulling 5kw according to one of those smart meters. Didn't realise that much could come out of a socket without blowing something

Mine used to destroy plugs & fuses due to overheating so I fitted it with a 16A blue plug and installed a corresponding socket in my workshop.

I'm suprised mine doesn't either with the current it's drawing. The plug looks bakelite on mine. Mine has a rotary switch but I guess they're the same model

Hadn't noticed the switch.

I found the older plugs without the finger shields lasted longer.

a fan will add next to nothing to theload a 230V case fan is what i fitted just measure how much room you have 2 littles one work well as well

Can't remember, I probably went through two or three buliding a car trailer, but that's over thirty years ago - I soon fitted the 16A plug after that.

The fuses overheated causing the clips to weaken which in turn accelerated the overheating.

Likewise - had mine for years too! Paid £50 for it about 30 years ago from an ad in Exchange and Mart - brilliant little thing!

Very good idea about the scale though. Mine is (was) on a little see through sticker on the side that vanished years ago!

Had one of these or a very similar one for over 25 years with no problems,the only thing that broke was the clear cover on the side that shows the amp range.

That's anothe slight difference, the amps indicator is on the top of mine.
