Recently bought one of these old buzz boxes at a decent price, and it works fine after chasing out the spiders and cleaning up the inside.
Only 125A, runs fine from a 13A socket, runs 2.5 mm rods okay, even goes down to a 1.6 mm very nicely. (Used to get grief with 1.6 mm on the SIP).
Haven't tried it with a 3.2 mm yet, but it should manage the occasional one. It's not likely to be used much, just for when something a bit too heavy for the mig comes along. (I used to have a SIP buzz box, but gave it away...)
The spec plate is still readable, and I think I've managed to figure most of it out okay, except for the bottom line of figures, what do these stand for? The first letter is a capital 'I', not a 1, by the way.
O mm..........1.6....2.0..2.5....3.2...(Rod sizes)
I2A.............40.....55....80....110...(Welding Amperages)
Eh..............65.....25....18.......8...(Rods per hour, like duty cycle)
UoV............47.....47.....47.....50...(Open circuit voltages)
ALIMENTAZIONE 3-pin plug symbol (Needs an earthed supply)
I.240v........10.5...12.5..18.....23.5 (Not known?)
