CEA are decent machines but IMO focus more on what there machines look like than they should, even to the point of winning a design award for one of their TIG sets.
Also, I don't think they warrant the hefty price tag attached to them

Nah not really just that I've heard a lot of bad things about them in relation to the fact that everyone who's bought them either immediately regrets it or aint happy with the amount of money they paid for what they got.
I see a CEA AC/DC TIG going on ebay at the moment for the best part of £1700 quid, I can get a Jasic AC/DC for half that & I'll bet that I'd be a hell of a lot happier with it

Nah, Wilkinson star aint importing CEA anymore. SWP matey
But I see what you mean, Although everybody I know thats had Jasic stuff loves it
So if we buy CEA equipment from Wilkinson Star and they going to loose the franchise,who will be responsible for warranty.We are looking at at least 20 of these machines.Does any one know of an equivalent to the Thermal Arc 200 TS?

Isn't the Thermal Arc 200TS just a 200A stick/ lift tig set with dual voltage?
If it its an EWM Tetrix 200 MV will do the job a hell of a lot better than the Thermal Arc 200TS albeit somewhat more expensive.. Around £950 + VAT each with torch & reg
Can I ask why you need 20 new machines?

Ah so its basically a TIG & Stick dual voltage, the same as the EWM Tetrix TIG 200 with HF start, lift TIG & MMA, Dual Voltage.
Were you going to guy 20 CEA Rainbow 200's?

The old matrix 200's were not too bad units perhaps a bit OTT on the gizmos but very nice to weld with. and we should all remember the old stel/murex machines, these were Italian and very very reliable capable units.
I don't think jassic should be put in the contest with these even if cea had a bad rep with the rainbow. In the uk cea is not a well known or respected brand compared to others but actually they have pulled out a few little gems in the past and I believe the matrix was one of them. I used one some time back and I nearly bought it as it welded lovely. I've not even heard of the rainbow so I can't comment there.

All we need is a equivalent to the TA 200TS.I cannot understand why such a brilliant invertor has been finished. We have gone through the Sanrex option,via Phil pot and Cowling.Having sat round the table with our welding team we would like the TA 200TS,or something as good

Well it's only a 200 amp DC pulsed tig, surely there are lots of options to cover this.
Lincoln, miller, esab, fronius, ewm, and more all produce single phase 200 amp plus pulsed tig units and quality one that are comparable to the sanrex units. Is money an issue? The esab 2200i TA34 DC is a very good unit and probably the lowest price out of that bunch. Fronius transtig 2200 is probably the dearest but it's an awsome bit of kit. Kemppi do the minarc tig 200 which is very well priced looks robust too. Speak with matt1978 about what lorch might be able to offer on this subject.
