Cavity Wall Insulation Removal/Replacement

Hi Guys,
Short version: Had the above fitted a few years ago - started to get black mould a couple of years later - The people who bodged it (confirmed by 3 different surveyors reports) went bust some years ago. Contacted by ambulance chaser type 'no win, no fee' types who have been pursuing it - they've been knocked back in the courts and appeal. My only option now seems to be to have the remedial work done off my own bat
Therefore, can anyone point me in the right direction regarding who to talk to, to do the work? I assume that it's a bit specialised and that's why I'm seeking guidance.
I'm in the East Midlands (Derby) and the building is a semi-detached bungalow.

I’d have a chat with your local building control, chances are they’ve seen it before.. (also I thinks its notifiable work anyway) they maybe able to point you in the right direction..it maybe be easier to add external insulation then render... saves attempting to remove cavity wall insulation.. Big question is how is the damp coming in, rising damp (starts on the lower walls at ground level) or transferred between outer and inner wall? (Focused on exposed walls)

I had cavity wall insulation, the polystyrene balls, installed free of charge by the government. I declined the loft insulation as my loft is insulated by all the junk up there! I've had the ambulance chasers trying to get me to remove it but I've not had any problems and it made a significant difference to the warmth of the house.

Hi, If it's retro fit insulation it's blown in and the way to get it out is to knock holes in one of the skins and vacuum it back out. I use to have them pestering me on a regular basis about having both done, I even had a stand up row on the doorstep about why I don't want it done even though it's free. It's not free, it's being paid for out of my taxes. It defeats the point of the cavity which is to stop damp coming through from the outside wall. The only way it can work is when it's being installed when its first built. The other one is roof insulation and I didn't want the disruption of having to clear out the loft. Funnily enough I've since done it myself by going round buying up peoples unused rolls left over from their participation in the scam roll out. I've since then been pestered to have it taken out and having spray foam installed. I don't think so!!

I'm sorry for the rant but it's a pet peeve of mine. It's probably not what you wanted to hear, so as you were.

best way is to get wall jacks and take out your internal bricks if you can upstairs and also down stairs in chuncks or if possible in long lengths

refitting is not advisable a good way to have damp

but my advice is use a compressor and tubing to blow the stuff out dont use drill holes and compressed air its crap without seals and sooner or later it will find the quickest path

this method does enough but it dosnt get it all out
