I have done the pattern making for a couple of odd bellhousings -here's one I did several years ago (upside down Renault UN1 transaxle to RV8)
if you're only getting one or two cast from a pattern I wouldn't bother with making a separate core, just make the internal and external shape, the founder can cast from that -it's not very clear from the photo above, but due to its external form, my outside of my pattern wouldn't "draw" from the mould -the founder made up a separate "loose piece" from the problematic bit at the top of the pattern and fitted this into the mould before pouring the metal. This bellhousing was cast by Whittons castings at Charlton in South London -I did the machining in my workshop.
why just go the whole hog, and fit the twin cam engine and gearbox to the triumph, nice little engine, and would be a lot easier than trying to jig up a bell housing... fitted one to a chevette years ago, excellent engine & car, shame about the back axles....
it could be done, there's plenty of good sites on casting at home, have a look on youtube, "homemade casting foundry" etc, there's plenty info to be had.
Looking at it just now for myself, got most of the bits, just need to find a reasonably priced source for high temp refactory here in France... not in a big hurry, plenty other jobs on the go
