Hi
Today a friend gave me an old bench vise in boley style, which have a problem, she miss of a piece of the base.
So i need to rebuild the part.
The big problem is that it's cast Iron.
I have only 6013 and 316L, and flat carbon steel (very hard) .
So was thinking to dress the cracked area whit an inox layer whit 316L electrod, by depositing beads up beads, than weld up the steel piece by using 6013.
Once do that by using an angle grinder cut and grind the eccess metal .
But i don't know if it's possible.
Can you help me?
Ps 7018 it's aviable only on my engine driven welder, so noise, gasoline, my back pain, etcetera
Thanks
