hadn't thought of google haha. been a long night. neighbour flooded her house trying to bleed a radiator so have been dealing with that for the last few hours.

apparently everything was seized so instead of seeking help she tried undoing the plug on the other side, that wouldn't budge so the logical.next move was the trv... Once is started leaking she panicked

had a look at carbon arc gouging and brazing on youtube, its not what I thought it was. I thought it was just a carbon rod in a stick torch that wad a replacement for plasma or oxy cutting

pretty much. She lives with her fella, but he is next to useless. He asked a while back if he could borrow my abrasive chop saw...I had to decline as I was afraid he would get blood on it. Luckily I have put commando plugs on most of gear so I can tell people they cant plug them in cos its industrial haha

It's similar to oxy but using an arc set with a carbon rod with blast air fed through it

just found a video of what I thought carbon arc gouging was. got it confused with a cutting/chamferring electrode

I think I've got a few carbon arc rods. Are they sticks of carbon coated with copper? They where in the loft with A pile of stick rods when we moved in, I've got no idea what type though.

i cut a scrap car in half ark gouging it was called stick a rather large welding rod in my 180 amp oilcooled and run it round the car . it burnt it up in no time
