Anyone have experience of these beasts? Truma roof mount seems easiest but expensive option. But in locker one's give better trailing stability I've read.
Having weighed up the options, the Truma Aventa Compact looks favourite. Buy on line at ~£1,400 or have it fitted for £2,500. The unit would fit into our existing 400mm² roof extractor opening. Something I don't like anyway in winter use. That leaves me with an issue regarding cooking fume extraction. Other's on the web have reached the same dilemma, as original ideas are a thing of the past. With the Swift Challenger the 'Stoves' oven has a hinged glass plate and behind that a window opening and above that the microwave oven. So fitting a cooker hood is no simple task. It would have to be a side vent i.e. through the side of the caravan. As always I try to find someone who's done it. But so far 'nofindee'
On the subject of caravans....I bought a Freesat TV and a cheap dish to try out. The dish assembly is pretty heavy and will need bracketing. Has anyone fab'd one out of Ali' ? There most be a nifty design somewhere?
We have a dish on a tripod , only used it once , took a few minutes to set it up , reception was good until a gust of wind blew it over because some lazy pillock didn’t peg it down . Couldn’t be bothered to set it up again
