car phone holder/charger

not having used one before as used sat nav previously , is there one that actually does the job properly ? just want to be able to charge and use google maps , obviously hands free is advantage .ta , phone is 5" samsung galaxy xcover.

In the car I've the type that fits in an air vent. Standard eBay thing. So long as the clamp doesn't press on the phone buttons, and the charge cable socket aligns with the gap in the plastic on the cradle it's all fine.

The Landrover is different, I repurposed a bike phone clamp for that.

Ram Mounts. Not cheap but they work. Lots of different options and their suction mounts do actually suction mount.

Just bought a quad lock. very good.

Suction cup is a bit hit and miss on the dash but great on glass

g/f and I both have these, air vent mount.... but I like that, means it's easy to reach

drop your phone in and it automatically clamps onto it and starts wirelessly charging it, press a little button to release it

we've both had them more than a year, no problems so far
