Car charger point

I've ordered a petrol electric company car which won't be here for another 3 months...
It's rumoured the company won't fund a dedicated charger point on my drive, I've asked and waiting on that.

I've got a double outside socket I fitted just to run the hoover etc on the drive, wired to a 3 pin plug to a 16amp supply plugged in the garage.
Would that be safe for the draw below?

That's worth an enquiry, although my local council find it hard enough to collect my rubbish let alone anything else.
I read a lot of the incentives are reducing back.
Work were giving a voucher for a set amount but might be withdrawing it.

I run a 3kw heater and a load of other stuff while I'm in the garage but 2.3kw unattended worries me a bit even tho the outside socket I cabled with pretty hefty core cable - but just running into another plug socket? is that OK

2.5kw is about 10 amps so should be ok with a decent quality socket.

I ran my hybrid happily at 13a for 18months before I got another car, socket was perfectly fine. Being in the shade and outside no doubt helped.. You’ll probably find that the 13a plug is “special” it has 2 extra wires in the cable and a thermistor in the plug connected to the charger, this turns down the current if things start to get exciting...

I got a Mii last week, so far its been on charge every day on a 13 amp socket via a timer (solar panels) works out I did 92 miles yesterday for about £4,
your 3 pin socket and granny charger will be ok,

As far as company cars go, this will be my swan song, its not a jobs needs car so I can opt out, which I will almost certainly do at the end of this lease, it's just not worth it tax/cost wise.
If this was not petrol electric option I would be out already.

Volvo V90 , 0-62 4.8 secs TS 155mph - TBF I do need an estate, getting to the skip that quick is hard to justify tho...
Had a XC60 for a bit a while back, apart from that never had a volvo long term, might be joining the indicator non use brigade

Thats bloody quick for a volvo,as they are not making any go faster models anymore, going electric only by 2030 and moving dealerships online
