My son is paranoid about covering his car in the winter and wants to build some form of canopy, with an option of fitting sides in the winter.
Problem is he needs it out the front of the house.
He has one flat parking space and the rest of the drive to the right is sloped. From the road. This is where the front door is and it opens outwards.
The house to the left has a front garden and 5 foot high hedge that follows the slope currently.
His latest idea is 4 posts 4 x4 high enough at the front of the drive to get his car under and sloping following the hedge.
He will need to build a porch that allows for the door and a 6 foot 6 person to exit and walk to the centre of the drive and then up it.
Anyone got any nice ideas for a structure and the legal compliance required.
Currently it will be built in box section steel with an internal lip for polycarbonate welded on out of angle so the poly is sunken. With wooden posts bolted to the floor.
