Car body mig welder

hi I have a BMW which needs some work cutting out rust and welding new metal in and am looking for a mig welder for the job.
I've looked at Clarke mig 145 or the Sealey Mighty Mig 150?
I will be just using it for the repairs on the car can someone advise if the previous choices have enough ampage etc. for the job.

Enough ampage is not the issue, it's the bottom power that's most important, you want as low as possible and 30amps is what most decent hobby migs will offer, some go to 25 and the more expensive one's even lower.

The Clarke 145 which is actually a 135, goes to 35amps lower range, not too bad and manageable, buy it from a supplier who will still exist during it's guarantee period, the new cheaper Clarkes have not proved themselves so far... but may be fine

This is a much better buy though if collection or delivery can be arranged between yourselves.

Fair comment and I ate plenty of the Workington pies when I went to the tech college many many years ago.
