Capacitor Capacity

What ho chaps, our wonderful Chonda genny managed to throw some spikes through the Victron system and take out a number of chargers. The Milwaukee charger had a 400v 68mf capacitor that had popped and it came back to life when I soldered in a new one. The parkside one has popped its 400v 47mf capacitor and I don't have a replacement for that but I do have a spare 68mf one. Do any of you sparkey-type fellows know if I can replace the 47mf with the 68mf (if there's physically space in the case for the slightly larger capacitor)?

Yes. A larger main storage capacitor would be OK.

Ta muchly. Shoulda said microfarad rather than millifarad but same principle I guess.

Just don't go too large. In rush current might prove to cause another problem.

Just to let you know, it seems to have worked fine. Green light came on shortly after I plugged it in, then the red light remained on till the battery was charged and switched to green. Mission accomplished. I did have to trim the inside of the case a little to fit it in.
