Canvas tent thin patches

I beg the collective knowledge of the forum:

Got a 12x12 ex army canvas tent more or less given. The canvas for the most part it sound bar a strip about 5ft long and 2 ft wide on one side of the roof that’s gone thin (in the picture it looks like holes, they’re not)

What’s my options? It’s more of a cooking /drinking tent for shows than an out and out camping tent. I do have a 9x9 in much better Nick for sleeping in!

I'm guessing that if it's ex military, the top / sides and doors are all separate bits held together by string and toggles so you might be able to get a replacement roof section from an Army surplus type place.

Or you can get offcuts of the canvas and stick them on.

I’m waiting on guys opinion st the moment, he’s on the 12x12 group. I might just go ham with some silicone and rub it in a bit!

If you ?dilute? the (pure silicone) sealer with BBQ lighter fluid, you can make it liquid enough to paint on.



This is just a piece of bed sheet, which I've waterproofed as a test.
