I'm 37 and have 16 years experience in welding and fabrication,I started at a local fab shop doing all the jobs the experienced guys didn't want to do and went to night school to get my city and guilds in MMA,MIG and TIG.I also did the city and guilds auto CAD 2 course and spent 18 months in a engineering drawing office.I applied for a job at a local firm who manufacture precision tubes and cylinders and started there last week,I didn't think I would get the job as there where alot of applicants some with qualifications coming out of there ears! My point is I was offered the job because of my enthusiasm, the fact that I worked hard to learn all aspects of the trade and that I was local so don't despair if you can prove that your keen and willng then you will get there in the end!
