Canopy

One of my neighbours has asked me to make a canopy for their front door, 2.45m wide x 1.2m deep, and as non-maintenance as possible, so painted steel is out! I’m minded to do in it aluminium but have no equipment nor the experience to weld it, so will have to be bolted up; it’ll be glazed with corrugated PVC sheet.

I’d appreciate your views on what section Ali to use, how to make the joints and how best to prevent it racking - it’s quite a windy site. Photo below is one another neighbour has.

what about making it in steel and then getting it galvanised? The places in the UK have tanks 6m or more long
