50mm f1.8, don't buy the Yongnuo version as they are rubbish

I've got one for my 650d. It's cheap and very noisy. Wish I hadn't bought it tbh.

@Wendelspanswick I have been having a play today, best thing to buy is the 50mm f1.8, don't buy the Yongnuo version as they are rubbish

And if you have any nice/unusual FD glass, sell it me and buy another lens. I like the 28-135, its old, big, clunky and film era, but pretty indestructable

The 28-135 EF?
I bought one of those for £20 as it had a stuck zoom mechanism.
It turned out that a tiny screw had come out and a small metal bracket had fallen off inside.
Took me less than an hour to fix it.
Mine is unbelievably sloppy, it’s like nothing is connected to anything else but it works, it’s extremely sharp, lovely and contrasty and fast focusing.

Yep, I paid a bit more than that but it’s lived on my 550 and my 5d for a long time. They do “creep” but it’s one of the few lenses I have that gets the colours right more often not

I don't blame you. My goto lens at the minute is an EFS 17-55mm F2.8 USM IS. Love it. It was expensive but, I'm alot happier with the shots that are coming out now.
