I asked this as I have a 240v to 415v 8hp static converter so I wondered whether I could feed the 415v single phase from the transformer into a VFD to give a balanced 415v 3 phase output but there was no consensus as to whether it would work.can you use a 3ph transformer to give 415v from a VFD input
I would think a transformer before the VFD (Single phase side) would work
Should work, but many 400V inverters require 3 phases in. The inverter would need to be able to have input phase failure detection disabled, and you'd have to de-rate the inverter as it wouldn't be running on all three phases.
