Probably best to have clean cut edges & pipe surfaces to reduce chance of leaks, so there may be a pipe length gap to fill. Thanks for your help. Would I need to cut anything off.
Cheers Tim
Get an accurate measure of the two pipes diameters so it's clear what you need.
Also measure the gap between the pipes, where the new joins might fit after cutting e.g further away from the busted joint & past the tight bends, where there is a good 30mm or more straight pipe for the new joiner fittings.
I'd suggest you then ring the hydraulicmegastore guys and discuss it - they may have a flexible joiner you could use to replace the tight bend, maybe with a loop, to build-in some slack/flexibility...?
Saying all this with no personal experience, just what I would try to do myself in the same situation.
I'd be OK with up to around £100 (hopefully less) for pipes & fittings doing it myself as the gas is already out... I have a vague memory of a Rover 827 short aircon hose costing me about £75 (28 years ago), but that included labour and a re-gas...
