Hello Forum
This is my first post. I have searched the interweb but not found the answer to this problem.
I'm in the middle of my most ambitious paint job thus far, a retro flame job. I masked off to paint the black in the right place and then remasked to paint the yellow/orange/red of the flames. When I took the masking off there was a definite edge at the edge of where the masking was at the edge of the flames. So I thought I could gently rub it down with wet and dry and plenty of water. It worked but unfortunately it left the paint with a matt finish. I want to pinstripe the edges and then clear lacquer over the top.
How can I fix up the matt finish I now have? Can I use T-Cut? If I do will I need to clean afterwards before more paint goes on? Or will the lacquer give me a nice gloss finish?
I am using cellulose paint.
Joe
