Yep, right enough I couldn’t make out all the winding wires earlier as I was on my phone, I wasn’t sure as it’s a 3 phase terminal block. No, it's single phase from the start.
Yes I thought as much, but I’ve wired about 2 single phase motors and hundreds (probably thousands...) of 3 phase. To say my single phase experience is limited is an understatement6 post blocks are used on most these days, easy to source and easy to set up for switching direction.
What’s going on Pdg???Here, wire it this way and you'll only need to switch the jumper positions to reverse...
Colours annotated are only for this motor...
If it's required to be switchable, that's fairly easy so anyone can just ask.

Wine and beer Pdg. Always blame the booze whether it’s true or not. It’s the best Christmas excuse there isI was up until stupid o'clock wrapping (which is now unwrapped)
I have a cold (well, the wife says it's a cold, I'm quite sure it's a mix of an aneurism, influenza and ebola or similar)
There's probably other things too![]()
I have a cold
Yes, you can.
If you can furnish me with where all the wires were originally connected (specifically, the incoming neutral and the right hand white wire going into the motor) then I'll draw you a crappy picture![]()
No probs.
Wire it like that and it'll turn one way with the jumpers one way, and the other will switch it
I didn't label "fwd" and "reverse" because those terms are only relevant once it's driving something, and because without knowing which way it's wound there's no way to tell until it's powered anyway.
Is it a one time change of direction or is he likely to want to keep swapping?
