Can I replace the 60 amp contactor with an 80 amp

The contactor has failded in my kestra 305 mono mig. The contactor thats in it is a 60 amp. I was talking to an electrician and he has an 80 amp and he said it would be safe to put an 80 amp contactor in instead of replacing the 60 amp. I just want to know what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Should be fine and will probably last longer.

No problem at all, a contactor is only a remote controlled switch and a bigger capacity may mean it will last a bit longer than the original,
If it physically fits and the coil voltage is the same then fit it

It's worth finding if the current draw of the coil is similar to the one you're replacing, some control circuits don't have much extra capacity but usually it works out fine.
Just make sure the contacts are wired up correctly, the arrangement of normally open and normally closed contacts can be quite confusing, even more do if auxiliary contacts are involved too.
