To cut a long story short I have an oddball Perkins in my Dexta which takes the standard liner size, but with no lip. I can buy liners without the lip but the ID is out of spec. I have the liners with a lip.
Ideally i'd like to take the lip of these liners. The liner wall is about 2mm, and I need to take about 0.5mm off each side. If i make a mandrel to hold them in the lathe is there anything to stop me doing this? Obviously would need to be clocked in.
Or cylindrical grinding?
