As @addjunkie says, and there will almost certainly be a plate on it somewhere with details of power supply, speed, rated pressure etc.
As pictured in the farm scrap heap. No switch push/pull on the top makes it close to 1970 something.

If you crack open the tank drain nothing comes out because it's clogged with rust.
The plastic cap on the pressure switch falls to bits.

cost almost zero to give it a try...making sure the comp has oil and u can turn it by hand....
over time it's only lack of oil thats kills em....
dont worry about external rust.....
wire it direct to a switched socket....if it gets upto around 50-75psi fairly quickly, spend some time on it....
The auto pressure stop start switch will be around £15.....once ur confident it'll pressure up....
take out the drain plug for starters and give it a poke up the hole....fire itr up and blow the carp out....
then ur away.....
if it works and u dont want it for proff work it'll outlasst this modern junk.....
I have a twin cyl comp pump thats gotta be from the 30's that still works daily.....I dont need speed or much over 125psi.....
it's just for tryre press and air guns.....it'll outlast me......hahaha...

it can probably be re fixed on wouldnt worry about it being rusty on the outside , the inside of em get rusty .if it does leak its generaly just pinhole rust on the bottom . tun it over and agive the tank a tap with the ballpein of a hammer all the way along if it dents its worn if it dont it will be fine

Looks like a Danfoss switch and a pillar type relief valve, so Eighties I would estimate maybe early nineties. Tank should have a info plate welded on the end.
Be wary of rust weakening the tank, these are relatively thin ...... 3mm or so. My even older Broomwade has a tank that is 8mm thick, and even that worries me a bit.
Maybe set it running in a field and run an hide behind a shed or something and see what happens.

Nah! There are lots on here that would set it up as a settee in their workshop. I’m not one of those.
I've got a 1972 IR30 v-twin pumped, 150 litre compressor converted to 1ph with a 2kW 1440 rpm motor.
What I'd query with that would be just how well it'll manage with much beyond low air demand work.
Mine is I think meant to be about 9cfm with a twin pump... but no way will it keep up with air -hungry kit like ugga-dugga's, air ratchets, needle guns all that well. I suspect my 100L Clarke belt-drive portable (compared to the IR30!) Is pretty close on performance in truth.
I suspect ot depends on what you want it to do, and how much!

The size of the receiver is immaterial, if comparing pump output with the air used. Air usage, exceeding the pump output, will always eventually deplete the reserve in the receiver - whatever size that receiver may be.
The oft-quoted receiver volume is simply another ploy to befuddle/distract the buyer who doesn’t understand that it is usually just marketing hype.

Yes, but the Compressor in the pic looked to be a 1-cyl pump - I.e. not lots of air (or storage of air either), so limited

It's a Condor which is what is fitted to most compressors over here in Australia (OP is in Aus too)
