Can anyone recommend a surface repairer for an office desk?

Good morning all, as above can anyone recommend a company to carry out a repair of a scratch on an office desk?
This is a client of ours so need to be done by a professional outfit and the desk is at an office on the outskirts or York.

So far I have been let down by one company who didn't turn up and I've chased another company 3 times with still no response.

what type of office desk surface does it have ?

Its a walnut vaneer

I doubt it is real walnut, probably a modern material as used on replica cupboard doors and panels ect

If it hasn't cut the wood fibres (if it IS wood...) it'll need the varnish/finish stripping then the gouge can be raised with steam before refinishing - not a quick process, though. Any chance it'd be cheaper to buy a new panel for the top?

possibly but there could be a chance it wont match and the full office has matching furniture.

Surface medic is one of the company's who didn't turn up but that was through an office Preston. I'll give one of those numbers a try as its a franchise so I may have better luck speaking direct to the technician

Out of interest, is the damage down to your lads, or is the repair a service you've been asked to arrange?

It's likely down to one of my lads putting a printer on it but the customer didn't mention it till 4 days after we left site.

Tricky one that - hard to knock back a good customer.
