Camper van water container help

Built a Camper for Winchgirl, just struggling for a good idea with the water container
Problem is the pump has to go inside the container along with a hose and cable for the pump, I need to get this lot through the lid but keep it water tight

I have the same,just bore a hole thru the cap,slipped the pipe and cable thru it.
Never leaked,although mine sits almost vertical,and never rolled the camper.

Not that simple as there cable and pipe have no joins in them, too much faff to disconnect every time you need to fill up

Generally on small campers the pipe/cable go through a hole in the cap, when you need to refill you unscrew the cap and lift the pump out. Obviously don't fill right up!! Other than that you could look at kak tanks for below floor level

As @Stuartg1 says. Drill a hole in the cap, fit a grommet to seal round the pipe (mines one from an electrical back box) and just leave the pipe attached to the cap.

Which reminds me that must clean and sterilise that pipe before I get some horrible disease from it.

If completely stuck, check out thingyverse. The water container in my camper had quite a wide opening on it, but the cap was past its sell by date. I found a ready made cap design, complete with pipe openings, and printed it out.

Surely you don’t want to seal it anyway as you need to let air in for the water to flow out or the can could collapse if the pumps strong enough!

We just take the pump out and put it in a plastic bag then put the lid back on the container when we empty it. That's how they are designed.

did the same in the good ladies wee camper, works fine,
i did have to wire in an adjustable voltage regulator as the pump sprayed the length of the van at 12v!

Ive got a sort of "skirt" made out of flexible plastic replacing the cap.
It fits quite snugly but not tight over the hose and pump cable, then just slides over the can thread.
OK.... if you filled the can right up to the neck you'd leak a bit, but otherwise it works pretty effectively to keep the water where you want it (& make removing the pump to refill simple).
