calor type gas tank head thread size?

hi all does anyone know what size and type of thread it is in a calor type gas bottle where the valve screws into the top of the cylinder its for my next project you can feel free to guess what it might be

Red propane or blue butane?

The red ones are 1/2 bsp (I think) but the blue ones are an odd-ball. They have the same pitch as 3/8 bsp but are a non-standard diameter.

i drilled one out and retapped to 1/2 bsp

I've removed the valve and driilled it out to suit a brass union or copper pipe which I soldered in, depending what I wanted to connect it to.

ok ill come clean, it's a spudgun barrel... today at work we made one from some 8 inch by 5 mil seamless tube then we plasma'd soem 5mm plates out one with a hole for the barrel which we used scaffold pole of about 5ft drilled a 8mm hole in the exp chamber i rammed my lunchtime apple down the barrel and a good hard tap with a broom handle and it shoved it to the end of the barrel

the fuel we used was an neutral oxi propane mix
10 seconds in the hole pop the torch out thumb over someone lights the torchand you whack it back in the hole

KABOOM even with ear defenders you seill knew about it

Which way were you pointing it cos I think the wife forgot the apple sauce for dinner tomorrow and porks no good without apple sauce
