bypassing drill switch

this is only for testing purposes to test the drill still works

this is for a bosch drill I let someone borrow it and it came back not working what im told is trigger smoked and bosch drills are renound for going faulty on there switches

what im wanting to do is bypass the switch just to make sure the drill is in working condition to buy a switch for it if not I will be buying a new drill otherwise id like to buy just the switch for it

the drill also has a variable speed trigger which this picture does not have on it closest i could find to my drill trigger

the drill is a bosch xcel pbh sds hammer drill



1 and 2 are the lives coming in from the plug 240v m1 and m2 are going to the drill itself

c1 and c2 are going to a supressor where a third wire goes to the drill

don't you have a multi meter to simply test it ? if not use a battery and bulb

The switches are the weakest point of any drill no matter what make they are. I fixed three decent Bosch drills 6 months or so ago that had been deemed beyond repair by the old man - luckily they were kept for spares. Each one of them was only a failed switch. For the effort it takes type the make model into Ebay or failing that the part numbers off the switch itself and I'd be very surprised if you can't get a replacement for under £10 - maybe up to £15 if you have to order from Germany.

thanks guys ive priced up the switch and its around 20.00 for it hence the reason i would like to test it by bypassing the switch control to make sure the drill is fine

ive looked at your link and its 30.00 for the on off switch

ive tested the switch by multimeter before so i knew then 3 years ago that switch was at fault but i had dewalt drill instead to use so it stayed stored till later now i want the switch but prefer to bypass to make sure before switch is purchased otherwise just go out and buy a new drill instead

its only for testing purposes just as a double check
