Picked up these 2 series and got then down to my workshop tonight killed myself so wont be doing anything for a few days now but will try to remember to keep taking photos as I go along, speaking of photos ignore the quality shot on my phone with shaking arms

Well the plan was to make one out of the 2 as he said the chassis was crap with the one with the body on, when I was got there and spoke to him he said he's not actually looked at the chassis but was going by what the previous owner had said, a quick look and I only found 2 little holes but will go over it properly and then make a decision, there's also about another car and a half worth of spares as well

I think I've got a lot of work ahead of me, its the most ambitious project I've taken on by far, but for the price I paid I couldn't say no

It's happy days, always happiest with a project on the go, might be an off-road toy and a new daily drive if that's the case

You will get one done, then the pile o' bits will start you off on another project. You could make a Landy 6x6 truck. Or A custom body for the second one.

just don't go doing too much onto a patched chassis, if its changing an out rigger and doing the rear cross member fair enough, but patches and you will be under it constantly. I must say that rolling chassis looks a good starting point when you have the donor parked right by it

Somehow I also suspected this would be a Landy thread, odd...
Or maybe it's something to do with having a series of my own and having wasted/spent plenty of time mending other green oval things!

Forgot to take camera but spent a good while down the workshop today, the chassis with the body on has 2 small holes about the size of a penny and one about the size of £2 coin so will be cutting back and welding it up and selling the rolling chassis, the interior wiring was/is a mess and I have the distinct feeling that a have a go hero tried to do something (God knows what though) and thoroughly screwed the pooch, so will be replacing most of it

Quick question, does anyone know how much paint and primer I'd need to get in to repaint it? I've been looking at this http://www.jawel.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=122_125&products_id=3224 will that be enough to cover it or will I need more?

it looks like I'm gonna have to go chasing wires as whoever played with the loom has extended wires and joined wires with reckless abandonment and mainly used this thick red wire without putting any colour coding on it what so ever, tbh if I wasn't on a strict budget I'd just buy a brand new loom and be done with it

Get a decent A3 size photocopy of the wiring diagram and as you identify wires use a highlighter to mark them on the drawing, anything not highlighted is not used on your model or may have been removed by previous owner(s).

You may need ear protection if you leave the air horns mounted above the dash

Yeah that's pretty much the plan, the hardest but is gonna be finding out what the new wires were originally.

And worryingly there's a 3 sets of air horns on there, God knows what he was planning to do
