Buying my first MIG

Hi to anyone who can give me some advice. I'm looking to buy my first MIG to weld up my VW T25 camper. Wanted some advice of what to go for? I've been offered a SIP topmig turbo 140 for £200, basically brand new, would this be suitable and are they any good? If not what should i go for? Any advice would be appreciated.

I think the general consensus on the forum is at the budget end of the market Clarke is preferable. Cheaper migs, some SIP models included, will be more likely to have inconsistent or hard to adjust wire feed which makes things more difficult.

But I'm no expert so don't take my word for it.

Not sure about the newer SIP's but was sure about the one I owned.. it was awful to use.

Thanks for the replies. Having had a poke around on the internet not many people seem to speak too highly of the SIP welders. Everybody seems to be saying clarke is the way forward at the lower price ranges. Looking at the clarke 150te turbo. Any thoughts on these, and is it suitable for my camper project. I have done a fair bit of mig welding as i'm a mechanic but don't do enough to be an expert so others opinions are appreciated.

The Clarke 150te will be a good choice for a budget machine. Quite a number of people on here have them, and they have a good reputation.
It is unlikely to weld 6mm m/s, as Clarke might claim, unless it's vee'd both sides first, but it should cope with any hobby classic restoration work on your VW.
