Evening all.
I’m looking to buy a tig welder in the next few weeks - this will be my first time welding outside of a little go with a friend’s tig.
Initially I was thinking to buy an AC/DC tig (wanting to keep options open) but I think that may be for later down the line if all goes well.
And so. I’m looking to buy a single phase DC tig welder. Aside from gas & ppe, my budget is around £1000.
I’ll be mainly welding various steel tubing and sheet. Little stainless here and there. I’d like the option of going down to fairly thin stuff if possible.
Personally I prefer buying second hand, well-made equipment, but I’m happy to buy new if it makes more sense - A) someone on the forum yesterday mentioned that a warranty is pretty important, B) I’d quite like something smallish and not particularly heavy.
Grateful in advance for any advice
Cheers
